David & Tatum’s celebrated their beautiful Spring Wedding at Tre Bella in Mesa, AZ. It was a gorgeous spring day and absolutely full of joy and love. David & Tatum’s love story began when they met at a weekly bible study they were attending. I mean how cute is that!? A year later, David told Tatum he was taking her to dinner at the Wrigley Mansion where much to her surprise was actually going to the perfect setting for him to propose.
When I first met David and Tatum, I instantly adored them both.
Tatum is fun and energetic and so bubbly. David is a bit quieter and I could tell he spoke with intention. He formulated his thoughts before he said something and I loved that about him. Before our first meeting ended he said something about how he could tell my faith was important to me. I actually got teary eyed because the most important thing to my soul was the thing that they recognized the most. More than my camera equipment or my portfolio. It is the biggest compliment I could have received.
The spring wedding day began with getting ready photos in the beautiful Tre Bella bridal suite. I turned around to give Tatum some privacy for getting into her dress and I hear the worst sound ever on a wedding day. Her dressed ripping! I’m going to let Tatum tell you her count of this moment happening.
“I was putting on my dress (Nicole was “facing the other way”) and suddenly I ripped a lace mid section that connected my dress in the ‘boob area’. Nicole ran over with her eyes closed saying, “it’s okay, it’s okay, we can fix this!” as I was freaking out. I (hopefully) kindly told Nicole to open her eyes and said she was allowed to “get in there” to help fix the situation. Turns out, the piece of fabric that ripped off was gone, no way to fix it. Nicole watched my dress all through the night to make sure my dress was up right and nothing was “falling out”. She turned into my dress assistant and I’m so thankful!”
Now thankfully my second shooter is so uber prepared for weddings! Thank you Korie! And she had these teeny tiny sewing scissors.
Her dress was still the most beautiful gown I’ve ever seen. I told her if this is the worst that happens today, her wedding day will still be flawless and perfect.
It was time for the First Look. We headed just a few minutes away from the Tre Bella to the Mesa Arts Center where the first look took place. I’ll never forget David’s face when he saw her for the first time. In fact, he was frozen. (Honestly, I thought he forgot my instructions to walk towards her as he turned around). But it wasn’t that. David was just soaking every inch of her beauty in. He was taking a photo of her in his mind. And then said the most sweetest words.
He’s right, she did.
It was time to head back for the wedding at Tre Bella. The ceremony was held in the Blu Cielo room, which was such a cool venue! Their ceremony was so sweet and perfect for the both of them. They hired a beautiful couple to sing Hillsong’s version of “Amazing Grace” which was such a heartfelt moment as they stood there and sang together. After the ceremony we celebrated their grand entrance and ate the most amazing Italian food. But the absolute best part of the night was when Tatum and her dad, Randy had their father/daughter dance. I knew it was going to be epic because Tatum had told me she has been doing dance lessons with her dad for weeks prior to the wedding. But you guys it was so fun!! You have to watch the video and see for yourself. It was awesome!
I’m so thankful I met David & Tatum, their families and friends. I was honored to be apart of their beautiful Spring Wedding at Tre Bella and have met new friends in the process.
“Nicole Brown Photography exceeded my expectations and dreams as my wedding photographer! I searched for months, calling all kinds of photographers, and I’m SO thankful our paths crossed! My only directions were “bright, joyful and no double chin”… I honestly had no idea what I wanted but I knew what I didn’t want in my photos – this was scary for me, because how do you direct a photographer when you have no words?! The first time I met with Nicole it was as if she knew exactly what I meant! Thank you for my gorgeous wedding photos, AND for basically being my wedding planner too. Nicole helped direct the day and made sure I always had a drink, had a smile and my dress was where it should be! :)”
